The decomposed body of a man missing for the last six days was found stuffed in a plastic bag near his house at Kabichandrapur village under Cuttack’s Kasarda on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Prakash Sahu from the same village.

As per reports, Sahu left home last Sunday and never returned. After a thorough search for the last six days, his body was found in a nearby stream.

Sources said, Sahu in partnership with another person in his village had bought a paddy harvesting machine. Sahu had gone out Sunday evening after his partner called him to settle the income. But after he disappeared and did not respond to phone calls, his family members filed a missing complaint at Kasarda outpost.

The family of Sahu alleged that he was murdered and demanded stern action against the culprits.

“It was Sunday (Dec 3) evening when he left home. I think he was murdered between 10 and 11 pm on the same night. Arup Sahu, Sanjay Pradhan and his driver are involved in my husband’s murder,” alleged his wife Gitanjali Sahu.

Niali police with a scientific team reached the spot after the recovery of the body and launched a probe. The police have detained two persons for questioning in this connection.
