Laxmipur police station in Odisha's Koraput
A tribal minor girl was allegedly gang-raped while she had gone to watch a jatra at the Budhi Thakurani festival in Biriguda village under Laxmipur tehsil of Koraput district. An FIR was lodged in this regard late on Monday night.
The girl was reportedly returning home after watching the play when a group of youths allegedly abducted her in the cover of the night and subsequently outraged her modesty. The survivor managed to return home and narrated her ordeal following which family members lodged a complaint with the police.
As per the latest reports, police have detained four youths in connection with the case. Sources stated that soon after receiving the complaint, the cops launched a secretive manhunt operation to nab the accused under the direction of the Koraput SP.
Officers from Laxmipur and Kakiriguma police stations and their IICs led the operation and apprehended four suspects from the Kashipur police station area of Rayagada district.

Till the last reports came in, authorities were conducting an extensive interrogation of the detained accused to ascertain the nature of the crime and decide further course of action. However, no further comments could be obtained so far.
