The steel city of Odisha celebrated 'Rourkela Day' with a major announcement from the State's Minister of Public Works, Prithviraj Harichandan. The Law Minister made significant announcements on Rourkela Day, promising transformative infrastructure projects for the city.
In a move to boost the city's infrastructure, the minister revealed plans for a Rs 35 crore suspension bridge at the sacred Vedvyas Heritage site in Rourkela.
The minister also shared the government's vision to construct a four-lane road linking Rourkela to Jaleswar, aimed at enhancing regional connectivity. This is part of a broader strategy to improve transport links. The proposed infrastructure aims to bolster Rourkela’s connectivity, including a four-lane road linking Rourkela and Jaleswar. Furthermore, plans for a comprehensive 100 km ring road around the city are underway. This development seeks to address traffic congestion and improve urban mobility for Rourkela’s residents.
“The new 100-kilometre ring road is set to encircle Rourkela, targeting traffic congestion and providing smoother transit routes for residents and visitors alike. We are committed to advancing our city's infrastructure to meet future demands,” the Minister stated during the announcements.
