MBBS student brings ragging allegation against final year students at Cuttack SCB
A first-year MBBS student has brought ragging allegations against final-year students of the SCB Medical College in Cuttack. Not only the victim student, but some guardians have also brought ragging allegations against seniors at the hostel of SCB Medical College.
It is alleged that the attempts were being made to suppress the matter. When contacted the Dean of SCB refused to comment on camera but informed that no written complaint has been received in this connection. However, the anti-ranging committee has started a probe following the ragging allegations.
It is pertinent to mention here that time again there have been allegations of ragging at various medical colleges including in Odisha.

Recently, five senior students accused of ragging their juniors in Berhampur-based MKCG Medical College and Hospital were expelled from the hostel.

It was alleged that second-year students were harassed by their seniors who used to switch off the hostel lights and beat them up and even forced them to dance.
Later in the day, Cuttack SCB medical college Dean, Lucy Das said "I have spoken to the students and no ragging took place. We have not received any written complaint regarding ragging."
