The accused man, posing as the son of a reputed engineering college founder and a wealthy landowner, lured numerous women on the platform, claiming to be unmarried while leading a double life. He defrauded women of lakhs of rupees through deceitful promises.

This unravelled when a young woman from Dhenkanal, who had been in communication with Deeptiraj since December 24 last year, discovered he was not only married but also the father of three children. The revelation came while they were cohabiting with his brother’s family in a posh locality in the Capital City.

Further investigation unveiled multiple interactions and monetary exchanges with other women, discovered on Deeptiraj’s smartphone. In response, the woman filed a formal complaint at Chandrasekharpur Police Station, resulting in Deeptiraj’s arrest and subsequent court proceedings.

The allegations detail that accused Deeptiraj while saying his bank accounts were frozen, gathered significant amounts, for stock market investments, and procured high-end electronics gadgets.

Police also confirmed that Deeptiraj is embroiled in several outstanding fraud cases. However, neither he nor his family has provided any statement regarding these allegations.
