Marriage mandap on Puri beach

Strict Permissions

Such permissions are typically reserved for government or community events, with private occasions like weddings, religious rituals or birthday parties generally not eligible for approval. The incident saw officials from Puri Municipality stepping in promptly to issue directives stopping further decorative activities along the popular beach.

Inquiry and Official Response

According to local reports, the Superintendent of Police (SP) in Puri has been informed about the incident. As yet, there has been no public statement from those who organised the wedding.

“We had come to the spot after getting information about the illegal marriage event. We gave time to remove all the set up on the beach. The concerned person could not produce any valid documents,” said an Enforcement officer.
