Works Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan informed on Wednesday that a high-level meeting will be held on September 6 to review progress and finalise a detailed roadmap. The key meeting will include all MLAs from Bhubaneswar and Cuttack twin cities, along with Mayors, civic body Commissioners, and senior officials from the Works Department.

The aim is to ensure smooth travel and public convenience during puja celebrations. Special focus will be given to damaged stretches, water-logging zones, and high-traffic corridors.

The government plans to complete pending works with time-bound efficiency, coordinating closely with urban bodies and contractors to avoid delays. The roadmap prepared during the meeting will serve as the blueprint for execution across key roads and junctions.

This pre-festival infrastructure push comes in response to growing public demand for better roads and civic conditions during high footfall events like Durga Puja and Lakshmi Puja.

“Repair work of all major roads in the cities and towns of the State, where a high footfall is expected during Dussehra festivities, will be completed by September 20. Officials concerned with the Department will accordingly be instructed in a review meeting scheduled to be held on the coming 6th,” the Works Minister said while speaking to mediapersons.

“Key meeting of the Department will be attended by officials of superintending engineer rank or above. The repairs will be carried out on major district roads, connecting roads, and roads in cities and towns across Odisha,” the Works Minister added.
