The Lingaraj Temple Road railway station in Bhubaneswar is poised for a major transformation aimed at enhancing passenger convenience and infrastructure.
The redevelopment, costing around Rs 19.53 crore, will introduce a host of modern amenities designed to cater to both daily commuters and visiting pilgrims.
Key highlights of the revamp include the addition of a G+2 station building covering 765 square metres, along with the renovation of the current 1100 square metre front-facing structure.
A new 12-metre-wide foot overbridge, dedicated parking zones for two-wheelers and three-wheelers, and a 130 square metre air-conditioned waiting lounge are part of the comprehensive upgrade.
Passengers can also look forward to new premium modular toilets, granite and mosaic-tiled platforms, a cafeteria, a commercial block, and 29 additional bays to expand platform shelter capacity. Information systems like coach and train display boards will also be modernised.
