The Additional District Judge (ADJ) of Dharmagarh in Kalahandi awarded life imprisonment to a woman and three of her sons for murdering a man over a land dispute in Kalahandi’s Atigaon village in 2018.

The court has also levied a fine of Rs 50,000 each on all four accused. In case of non-payment of the fine, the jail term will be increased by one year.

As per reports, the victim, Chayakanta Dandasena, who worked as a peon at the RI office at Atigaon under Junagarh police limits was brutally hacked to death by Radhu Dandasena, Pita Dandasena and Jadu Dandasena after getting instructions from their mother Kuchita Dandasena.

The sensational murder took place in 2018 when Kuchita and her sons were trying to construct home on a government land beside the RI office. When objected by Chayakanta, Kuchita allegedly asked her sons to kill him.

The police had registered a murder case after arresting all four persons.

Public prosecutor, Purnachandra Nag said, “The court has pronounced the sentence after hearing all the witnesses in the case which was registered under IPC section-302 and 34. It was a brutal murder that took place in 2018 and the verdict of which was pronounced today.”
