A massive probe is currently underway by the Special Task Force (STF) of the Odisha Crime Branch to dig deeper into the case pertaining to Kashmiri fraudster Sayed Ishaan Bukhari who was recently arrested from Jajpur district. With Bukhari’s suspected terror links under the scanner, a team of Intelligence Bureau (IB) arrived in Bhubaneswar today for inquiry into the case.

Sources said that the IB team may interrogate Bukhari who has been brought on a five-day remand by the Odisha STF today for further investigation in this regard. Apart from this, the STF seems to have found some evidence regarding Bukhari’s motive behind marrying multiple girls in different parts of the country as part of the ‘Love Jihad’ conspiracy.

Earlier, it was said that Bukhari had married at least six to seven girls by identifying himself as an Army Doctor, an officer in PMO, and a close associate of some high-ranking NIA officials. It has been learnt that Bukhari had married one girl in Lucknow as part of Love Jihad.

The STF has reportedly sought more information from Lucknow Police in this connection, sources said. The STF had arrested Bukhari from Jajpur district last week.

The accused, Sayed Ishaan Bukhari has married at least 6-7 girls from various parts of India including Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Odisha. He was also active on various websites/ Apps and was in romantic relationships with many girls impersonating a doctor with international degrees. Besides, Bukhari is also accused of having links with some suspicious anti-national elements.
