Badambadi police in Cuttack conducted a surprise raid on a placement agency located in Pala Mandap area for allegedly duping job seekers of lakhs of rupees and arrested its owner.

The agency identified as Advanced A2Z Solution Pvt Ltd was duping hundreds of unemployed youths on the pretext of providing jobs and registration fees. It had collected lakhs of rupees from job aspirants and left them in the lurch with no jobs.

The proprietor of the placement agency has been arrested, police said. He has been identified as Binay Kumar Dash. Binay put up a huge poster of himself at the agency that read, “Dream is not you see in sleep, dream is something that does not let you sleep.”

Badambadi police said the raid was conducted based on three complaints filed by the victims of job fraud.

The cops have also seized a number of computers, fake placement/offer letters, and other important documents for investigation. The accused allegedly had engaged a few people to call job aspirants to Cuttack on the pretext of providing jobs.

They would then collect thousands of rupees in the name of interviews, registration fees and others. This allegedly had been going on for months, reports said.

When contacted, Amarendra Panda, SP Zone-6, Cuttack said, “At least three of the job victims had appealed to us for help and lodged a complaint in this connection. Based on their complaint, three separate cases have been registered by Badambadi police and we have arrested the agency owner Binay Dash. We have enough evidence and also conducted a raid on his agency. We have recovered money receipts of many such job aspirants who were cheated by Binay. There were also many bio-data of students and job aspirants. We are digging into the case further.”
