Close on the heels of the seizure of hard cash worth over Rs 320 crore,  the officials of the Income Tax department on Friday raided a liquor manufacturing factory in Kamakshyanagar area of Dhenkanal district.

As per reports, two teams of I-T officials came in cars this morning and carried out a raid on the beer-making factory of Shakti Maltare and Lemonade Pvt Ltd at Machhigan under Tumusinga police limits.

This raid is said to have links with the raids carried out by the I-T officials on the Boudh Distillery Private Limited recently.
As per reports, Shakti Maltare and Lemonade Pvt Ltd usually make beer under several brands after blending the spirit bought from outside.

The raid has been underway by two teams. Though it is not clear if the raid is linked to tax evasion, sources added that the raid earlier carried out on the Boudh Distillery has a link with the raid in Dhenkanal. It is also said that the spirit used by the factory is supplied by the Boudh Distillery Limited.
