"We had come here to sell herbs. However, while roaming here, she (Ruksun) suffered from jaundice. Though we treated her at Daringbadi, her condition worsened. Then we decided to take her to our village for treatment. However, she passed away near Kalinga. We became helpless and called some persons from Daringbadi to help us in performing the last rites. They told us to return to Daringbadi. Upon arriving here, they helped us perform the last rites. They also gave us money so that we could return to our village. They have helped us a lot since she was ill," said one of the herbal sellers.

"Residents in Daringbadi block have shown humanity and helped the helpless persons. They (the herbal sellers) were in a difficult state and were crying. Around 80-90 people from our area helped them in the cremation. Effort is being made so that they can return to their village," a Daringbadi resident said.
