Homeopathy doctor's family members assaulted, looted in Puri

Throwing challenge for cops, dacoits looted gold ornaments and other valuables after attacking family members of a Homeopathy doctor at Kharijasahi in Puri district.

The doctor Rabindranath Mohapatra, his wife, son and daughter-in-law were allegedly thrashed by the miscreants who entered their house last night after breaking the door. As per initial reports, all the family members were sleeping inside their house when four miscreants entered their premises.

Later, the miscreants allegedly attacked Mohapatra's son and daughter-in-law. The duo has sustained critical injuries in the assault by the robbers. All the four members of the family have been shifted to Capital hospital in Bhubaneswar in a critical condition.

On getting information, senior officers of Balanga police station have reached the spot and started an investigation into the matter.

Meanwhile, the other villagers in the area are now in a state of panic following the robbery incident.
