Heavy rain across Odisha till July 4
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert on Saturday predicting heavy rainfall across Odisha till July 4. Several districts are under Orange and Yellow warnings due to the likelihood of intense rain accompanied by thunderstorms.
According to the forecast, as many as 16 districts have been placed under Yellow Warning for today. Heavy rainfall is expected in districts like Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, and Bargarh.
For June 30 and July 1, the IMD has issued heightened alerts. On June 30, an Orange Warning has been issued for Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Jajpur districts, indicating a possibility of very heavy rainfall. Simultaneously, districts such as Balasore, Bhadrak, and Kendrapara have been placed under Yellow Warning.

The IMD has also predicted the formation of a cyclonic circulation over the north Bay of Bengal, adjacent to the Bangladesh and West Bengal coasts, around June 29. A low-pressure area is likely to develop within the next 24 hours, which could further intensify the rainfall activity across the state.
