GST raid on real estate firm in Bhubaneswar over alleged tax evasion

The Goods and Services Tax (GST) officials conducted raids on the properties linked to Evos Buildcon Pvt Limited at several places in Bhubaneswar on Thursday. 

Sources said the raids were carried out at the company’s head office at Baramunda and other places by the Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI) for allegedly evading GST. Besides the Baramunda office, three other places linked to the company were raided simultaneously by a ten-member team. 

The chairman of Evos Buildcon Pvt Limited is Kalinga Keshari Rath, who is said to be in the good books of several leaders, including a BJD leader. Several of his photos are on the social media platforms. 

The team is inspecting to find out the amount of GST the company evaded. The team is verifying several documents of the company, sources said.
