Girl student of pvt engineering college found dead in Jatani, Odisha  

A girl student of a private engineering college at Taraboi in Jatani was found dead under mysterious circumstances on Monday. The deceased identified as Sara Sampurna Mohanty, daughter of Sandip Mohanty of Kakatpur in Puri district, was reportedly found hanging in her hostel room. 

However, her family has alleged foul play.

As per reports, the college authorities said, Sara committed suicide by hanging herself in her hostel room. She was taken to the district headquarters hospital where doctors pronounced her dead.

However, the victim's father, Sandip Mohanty said, “We had spoken to Sara yesterday and even today through video call. She was normal. She might not have committed suicide, but was murdered as there were multiple injury marks on her neck and legs.”

Meanwhile, Jatani police seized the body and sent it to AIIMS, Bhubaneswar for post-mortem. An investigation has been launched by police.
