France to collaborate with Odisha for conservation of forest resources, wildlife and more
French Ambassador Thierry Mathou met Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday, and explored opportunities for investments in the state, a statement said.
Mathou, who led a delegation from France, discussed opportunities in the state in education and tourism, among other sectors.
The meeting, under the Purvodaya Mission of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, focused on how Odisha can play a significant role in further strengthening the bilateral relations between France and India, the statement said.
The delegation also met Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, Higher Education and Sports Minister Suryabanshi Suraj and Forest, Environment and Climate Change Minister Ganesh Ram Singhkhuntia.
France is interested in collaborating on forest and wildlife conservation efforts, officials said.
Following the meeting, Mathou shared on social media that the discussions covered collaboration in sustainable tourism, fostering cultural connections, conserving biodiversity, addressing climate challenges, and enhancing student mobility. Additionally, they explored ways to develop sporting talent through shared expertise.
