Four teachers found to have taken up jobs by furnishing forged educational certificates were dismissed from service on Friday.

The fake teachers have been identified as Alma Tappo, Sanjit Pani Mahananda, Biranchi Nayak and Minmayee Panda.

The action was taken following verification of their certificates which turned out to be fake.

As per reports, the Bolangir district administration sent the certificates of teachers from the last two recruitment drives to their originating universities for verification.

Divulging more information on the same, Bolangir District Education Officer (DEO), Dhrubacharan Behera said, “We have sent certificates of 251 teachers to other states for verification. Out of these, almost all the certificates have been verified and those found to be fake were re-examined by us, and subsequently, show-cause notices were issued.”

“We have also registered complaints at the police station against teachers with fake certificates. After we found these four teachers, we dismissed them,” he said.

is pertinent to mention here that the development happened following the arrest of a Hindi teacher identified as Minmayee Panda who was working at Randa High School in the district for the last ten years by allegedly submitting fake B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) certificate.

However, the other three teachers are on the run fearing their arrest.
