Nearly 200 job holders are under police scanner for using fake certificates to secure jobs, informed Crime Branch DSP, Debabrata Chakra on Sunday.

A list has been prepared and the CB will start summoning them one by one for questioning, sources said.

As per reports, there are government employees as well among those who have produced fake certificates to get jobs. Some people have already been detained for questioning.

“There are around 200 persons in our list and we are tracing them out. There are some government employees as well in the list. The fake certificate racket in Bolangir is a big case and it was going on for years together,” said Chakra.

It is pertinent to mention here that four job aspirants were arrested on Friday on the charges of submitting fake educational certificates to secure postal jobs in Jeypore of Koraput district.

Notably, four persons have been arrested in connection with the racket so far including two key accused, identified as Manoj Mishra and his associate Alok Udgata.

After their arrests, the Crime Branch had taken them on remand. After completion of the remand period, they were sent to judicial custody.

On the other hand, the fake certificate racket also reared its ugly head in Sambalpur. The matter came to the fore after the Sambalpur division postal superintendent lodged complaints against six postal job aspirants at the Town Police Station. Most importantly, all of them had allegedly procured certificates from Uttar Pradesh.
