The dead body of an elderly man was found late Tuesday night on the outskirts of the Birabandha area under Airfield Police Station limits in Bhubaneswar.

Locals promptly informed the police who arrived at the spot, recovered the body, and sent it to the Capital Hospital for post-mortem examination.

The deceased, identified as Bauribandhu Behera, was a resident of the same locality. Sources stated that no discernible injury marks were present on the body.

Meanwhile, family members of the deceased suspected foul play and brought murder allegations, though the exact circumstances remain unclear.

An investigation is underway to determine the cause of death and identify those responsible. As per the last reports, the police were examining CCTV footage from houses and shops near the crime scene while also interrogating relatives and neighbours of the deceased,

Sources also added that the man lived with his family and had no known past enmity, deepening the question if it was an alleged murder or death by natural causes.

Police have begun investigations but have not added any comments on this matter, as per the last reports.

Recently, a youth was allegedly beaten to death at a rehabilitation centre under Airport police limits in Bhubaneswar on November 10.

The deceased was identified as 36-year-old Sumanta Panda, a resident of Unit-6 area in the capital city, and he was reportedly thrashed to death on the same night that he was admitted to the rehab care.
