Woman found dead under mysterious circumstances in Bhubaneswar, husband detained

A woman died under mysterious circumstances in Rampur Basti area of Unit 4 in Bhubaneswar on Sunday morning. The deceased has been identified as Swarnalata Mandal hailing from Boudh district of Odisha.

If sources are to be believed, the husband of the deceased, Bapi Nayak of Nayagarh had shifted to Rampur Basti area here in the capital city nearly two months ago after marriage. The couple was living in a rented room in the area and entered into an argument two days ago. 

Nayak claimed that he found his wife hanging when he woke up early today. However, the body was lying on the ground when police reached the spot.

Though the husband of the deceased claims it to be a suicide case, the exact reason behind her death is still unclear.

A BMC corporator said, “I reached the spot after getting information about the incident. Only a detailed investigation can throw light on the exact cause of death."

Meanwhile, Kharavela Nagar police have started an investigation and sent the body for post-mortem.
