Doctor in Odisha arrested for ‘raping’ woman on false promise of marriage
A doctor in the Malkangiri district of Odisha has been arrested over allegations of 'raping' a woman on the false promise of marriage. Dr Amit Kumar Sahu, an Ayurveda practitioner based in Motu, is accused of misleading a local woman into an intimate relationship under the pretext of marriage.
Based on the complaint by the victim, police registered a case and made the arrest. He was later produced before the court, reports said.
Accusations Detail:
According to the police complaint, Sahu lured a young woman from the same area into physical relationship, assuring her of marriage. However, he later moved to his native village and married another woman, leaving the complainant devastated.

Police Investigation:
In response to the complaint, a police team led by Malkangiri IIC Rigan Kindo was constituted to spearhead the investigation. The team tracked Dr Sahu to Sambalpur, where he was arrested and subsequently brought back to Malkangiri.
Legal Proceedings:
Sahu was produced in court today, as the legal process unfolds to determine the veracity of the charges laid against him.
