The senior officials have cautioned residents against using water from the Daya River, urging those in riverside villages to completely cease using river water.

To ensure a safe drinking water supply, requisite steps have been taken to provide water via tankers. Meanwhile, health department personnel are offering necessary medical aid as a preventive measure.

“We will provide whatever requirement of drinking water is there through tanker and would appeal to all residents not to consume the Daya River water. You people (media) should also sensitise this,” a senior officer from Puri district said to media persons.
