Decomposed body of woman found on river bank in Bhubaneswar

The decomposed body of a woman was found on the banks of the Basuaghai River under Badagada Police limits on Saturday.

Local residents first spotted the body which was lying in the bushes on the river bank and then informed the police. 
Meanwhile, police recovered the body and started an investigation into the matter. 

Given the circumstantial evidence, the police suspect that the woman might have been murdered and dumped on the river bank. The body was suspected to be lying for the last three to four days.

The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained immediately.

Police are trying to identify the deceased and who is behind the incident.  A scientific team has been deployed at the spot.

There are some brick kilns in the vicinity. Police asked people about the woman at these brick kilns, believing that she might have been engaged there.  

Police also visited nearby villages and sought information from various police stations about any missing complaints.
