A six-year-old girl, who was allegedly kidnapped from Deogarh, was rescued from a road at Badagaon in Sundargarh on Tuesday morning.

The kidnapped girl has been identified as the daughter of Alok Agrawal, a businessman in Deogarh.

The girl was found on the road by locals following which they informed her family who then went to Badagaon to bring the child back home. She is said to be safe and uninjured.

Badagaon police reached the spot following the rescue of the girl.

Sources said the locals of Badagaon communicated with her family after the girl shared the phone number with them.

It was alleged that two unidentified bike-borne miscreants had kidnapped the girl from near State Bank Chhak in Deogarh on Monday.

According to sources, after attending her tuition class, the victim was returning home with her grandmother last evening. As they were nearing the State Bank Chhak, two miscreants on a motorcycle stopped near them.

Before the girl’s grandmother could understand anything, they pushed her aside, picked up the girl, and fled from the spot.

While the reason behind the kidnap is yet to be established, the police have started an investigation into the case.
