Cases of loot seem to be not taking a break in the Twin City as a dacoit gang has once again allegedly looted cash, gold ornaments and other valuables by breaking into a house and tying the couple in a bathroom late Friday night.

The incident took place at Maruti Vihar area under Nandakanan police station limits in Bhubaneswar.

“We were sleeping when suddenly heard someone loudly banging on the door. Before my husband and I could get up from the bed, around seven to eight dacoits entered our room by breaking the main door,” said the victim.

The victim further claimed, “The dacoits had sharp weapons and they threatened us not to shout. We begged them not to harm us and take all the money as we were scared for our children’s safety. They tied us using bed sheets, locked us in the bathroom and escaped. They robbed gold ornaments worth Rs 7 lakh."

On being informed, the police reached the spot and initiated a probe to nab the dacoit gang that is currently on the run.

It is to be noted that on November 10, masked miscreants allegedly looted cash over Rs 1.5 crore from an ATM cash van on Godijharia Nua Sadak Road near Kalim Bagicha Rice Mill under Tigiria Police limits in Cuttack district.
