The Vigilance Department’s raids on the properties linked to the Chief Civil Supplies Officer (CCSO), Bhubaneswar, unearthed a huge amount of assets allegedly amassed disproportionate to his known sources of income on Thursday. 

The Vigilance Department sleuths conducted simultaneous raids today at eight places in Bhubaneswar and Ganjam linked to Chief Civil Supply Officer Prashanta Kumar Gantayat on charges of accumulating assets disproportionate to his lawful sources of income. 

Till the last report came in, the CCSO’s two multi-storied buildings in Bhubaneswar, two flats, five plots, deposits over Rs 1.37 crore, gold ornaments over 500 grams, cash Rs 1.21 lakh, one four-wheeler, etc. were unearthed by the Vigilance sleuths. 

The raids, simultaneously conducted by the teams comprised of eight DSPs, five Inspectors, and other staff, were in progress at the time of filing this report. 

The places linked to the CCSO raided are one single-storied building and one triple-storied building at Pandara in Bhubaneswar, one double-storied building (VIM-192) at Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar,  an apartment at Neelachal City, Canal Road, Badagada, Laxmi Sagar in Bhubaneswar, his residential government quarters at municipality colony Unit-III in Bhubaneswar, an apartment in Neelachal Heights located at Bhabanipur in Berhampur-II, office chamber of the CCSO at the Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Department of Odisha and his parental house at Co-operative Colony, 1st Lane, Berhampur in Ganjam.
