Cyclone Dana
The Odisha government has now geared up to tackle any situation arising out of the impact of the severe cyclonic storm Dana which is likely to form by October 23.
As IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in several districts, the Odisha government has decided to deploy ODRAF and NDRF teams in districts which are likely to be affected by cyclone Dana.
As per the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC), a total of 17 ODRAF teams will be deployed in 10 districts of the state which are likely to be affected by cyclone Dana. Apart from this, three ODRAF teams will be kept on standby.
Two ODRAF teams each will be deployed in the districts of Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Khordha, Bhadrak, Balasore and Mayurbhanj. Similarly, one team each will be deployed in Cuttack, Ganjam and Jajpur districts.

Similarly, the SRC has also written to the Centre for the deployment of 10 additional NDRF teams in view of the formation of the cyclonic storm over the Bay of Bengal, strong winds and heavy to very heavy rain forecast issued by IMD for coastal and adjoining districts of Odisha. The Odisha government has sought these 10 additional NDRF teams from other states.
