Cuttack Sadar BDO’s car plunges into river, official narrowly escapes

A major mishap was narrowly averted near Lotus Park, close to Ramachandi on the Puri-Konark Marine Drive, when a car accidentally slipped into the Kushabhadra River while being parked.

The vehicle reportedly belonged to the Cuttack Sadar Block Development Officer (BDO), who was accompanied by his wife. The car slipped into the river while parking and was swept away by the current.

Prompt action by the Fire Services Department led to the successful rescue of the BDO and his wife. Both were immediately admitted to a nearby medical facility for treatment.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the incident and have advised caution when parking near riverbanks, especially duringthe  monsoon season.
