Odisha Vigilance conducted searches at five locations linked to Kishore Kumar Sahani, a senior assistant accused of misappropriating over Rs 1.24 crore and amassing disproportionate assets.

The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Friday launched simultaneous searches at five locations linked to Kishore Kumar Sahani, senior assistant of City Hospital (Office of the CDMO) in Cuttack. Sahani has been accused of misappropriating government funds amounting to over Rs 1.24 crore and allegedly amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

To collect evidence, raids are being carried out under search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack. The operation is being led by nine DSPs, 10 Inspectors, seven ASIs, and other supporting staff.

The officials of the anti-corruption agency are said to have laid their hands on many key documents, including bank passbooks, bonds, during the raid.

The searches are being conducted at the following locations:

  • A triple-storey residential building of Sahani at Jobra Nuasahi, Cuttack.
  • Another building and poultry farm at Palasia, Choudwar, Cuttack.
  • His office room at the Office of CDMO, Cuttack.
  • House of his in-laws at Deula Sahi, Tulsipur, Cuttack.
  • His paternal house at Uttarakula, under Kishorenagar police station, Cuttack.

Vigilance officials said the searches are still in progress, and further details are awaited.
