Exciting news awaits cricket fans as Cuttack's Barabati Stadium is likely to host one of the T20I matches between India and South Africa this December. The Proteas will tour India for a multi-format series, including two Tests, three ODIs, and five T20Is, beginning in late November. This tour follows the successful four-match T20I bilateral series played in November 2024, where India emerged victorious in South Africa.

T20I Series to Kick Off in December

The T20I series, which serves as a precursor to next year's T20 World Cup, will take place on December 9, 11, 14, 17, and 19. The matches will be held in Cuttack, Nagpur, Dharamsala, Lucknow, and Ahmedabad. According to BCCI Vice-President Rajiv Shukla, the first Test between India and South Africa will be played in Delhi, followed by the second Test in Guwahati.

ODIs Scheduled Across Multiple Venues

Sources reveal that the ODI matches are scheduled for November 30, December 3, and December 6, and will take place in Ranchi, Raipur, and Visakhapatnam, respectively. Last year, India played three ODIs during their South Africa tour and secured a 2-1 series win under the captaincy of KL Rahul.

West Indies Tour Before South Africa Series

Before hosting South Africa, India will welcome the West Indies for a two-match Test series in October. The first Test will be held at Mohali, while the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata will host the second Test. The West Indies' previous Test tour to India was in 2018 where India beat West-Indies 2-0 under the captaincy of Virat Kohli.
