A high-level committee has already begun an investigation at the institute, whilst the police continue their inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the death.
“Whether it is the authorities from KIIT University or any other person(s), those found guilty will be dealt with according to the law and face the befitting consequences,” Harichandan affirmed.
In the aftermath of the girl student’s death, reports of harassment and intimidation against several other Nepali students have surfaced, necessitating further investigation.
Law Minister Harichandan confirmed that these allegations are also being actively explored to ensure a comprehensive inquiry.
“The Chief Minister has already cleared the State government’s stance in this regard. The CM has also assured the students of KIIT from Nepal that no such incidents will occur in the future,” the Law Minister stated.
“The safety of the students is the responsibility of the Government. Besides, law will take its course and the process to punish culprits will keep continuing,” the Law Minister added.
Worth mentioning, the suspicious death of the Nepali student at the KIIT University hostel has sparked a controversy, with other students questioning if there was an attempt to hide facts surrounding the incident. The varsity attempted to suppress the facts, they alleged.
