New Year’s Eve isn’t just a celebration. It has become a tradition, more than just a celebration in the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. Like every year, the Twin City looks forward to that magical night with the lights and energy of the crowds during zero night.
As we bid goodbye to 2022, people in the Twin City cannot wait to share their joy with friends, family and loved ones. As we close out one year and begin another, well-decorated hotels, clubs and restaurants are all decked up with glittering lights to bid adieu to 2022 and welcome 2023 with the participation of people.
Odisha Capital and Cuttack are all set to welcome the New Year 2023 at several hotels on December 31. Hotels like Swosti Premium, Mayfair, Pushpak, Hotel Hindustan International (HHI), Empires Hotel and many more will host New Year’s Eve celebrations.
This year, OCA Club in Cuttack will witness a star show by famous singer Ruturaj Mohanty, dancer Harihar and Russian dancers. Similarly, Union Clubs is all set to dazzle in the thumkas and dance of Ollywood stars and Kolkata dancers.
A popular dance troupe from Mumbai has been invited to enthrall the audience at Cuttack Club during zero night.
Speaking to OTV about the major arrangements, Anil Kumar Sahu, manager, OCA Club said, “There will be a grand show on 31st night. It will be Cuttack’s most grand and largest event. We have invited many popular artists to perform during zero night.”
“There will be Odissi performance and Bollywood dance styles. We have planned the programme in such a manner that people of all age groups can enjoy the zero night,” said Gyanendra Kumar Singh, coordinator, Union Club.
Apart from dance programmes, many hotels have made arrangements for delicious food items to attract customers. Food starting from Chinese to Continental will be served to customers with unlimited drinks.
Meanwhile, the Commissionerate Police has made elaborate arrangements to avoid any untoward incident during zero night celebrations. Police patrolling will be increasing during night while cops will be deployed at popular tourist destinations, informed Cuttack DCP Pinak Mishra.
“All necessary arrangements have been made for a safe welcome of 2023. Police forces will be deployed in all major junctions and important points of the City. Traffic regulations will also be made,” Mishra said.
Similarly, Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh said, “We have issued necessary advisory to all the hotels and clubs for zero night celebrations. For those celebrating in open spaces, the loudspeaker is allowed only till 10 PM. For hotels and other inside celebrations, the permission is till 12PM.”
