CM Kisan Yojana: Over Rs 1,000 crore directly credited to bank accounts of 50 lakh farmers across Odisha

On Akshaya Tritiya, CM Mohan Majhi credited over Rs 1,000 crore to bank accounts of 50 lakh Odisha farmers under CM-Kisan Yojana, reinforcing agricultural commitment.

On the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, CM Mohan Majhi on Wednesday initiated a significant financial support programme for farmers. Majhi transferred more than Rs 1,000 crore into the accounts of over 5 million (50 lakh) farmers across the state.

The relief initiative was directly credited to the bank accounts of the beneficiary farmers under the prestigious CM-Kisan Yojana. As per reports, around 50 lakh farmers have received Rs 4000 each.

This substantial measure underscores the government’s commitment to the agricultural sector and the vital role farmers play in sustaining the state economy. The Odisha Chief Minister highlighted the commitment to bolster farmers' welfare, expressing gratitude for their contributions to the local economy.

Scheme Details and Distribution

Under the initiative, each farmer receives financial aid directly deposited into their bank accounts, offering much-needed support during challenging times. The scheme aims to bolster the agricultural sector, an essential component of the state's economy.

Government's Stance and Future Plans

The state government has emphasised its commitment to supporting farmers and enhancing agricultural productivity. This cash disbursement underlines the administration's priority to improve the livelihoods of those in rural areas, ensuring they have the resources needed for sustainable farming practices.

It is to be noted that farmers are being provided Rs 4,000 each in two installments per year under the CM Kisan Yojana in Odisha. The government is giving Rs 4,000 in two installments in Nuakhai and Akshay Tritiya.

Last year, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi launched the CM Kisan Yojana in the state on the occasion of Nuakhai.
