Class 10 girl student attacked with blade for resisting kidnap bid in Kendrapara

A class X girl student suffered severe cut injuries after she was allegedly attacked with a blade during an abduction bid at Pattamundai in Kendrapara district on Thursday.

The victim was admitted to Pattamundai Hospital in a critical condition.

As per reports, she was returning home after appearing in the Matric examination at Manmathanath High School when miscreants tried to abduct her in a car. However, the girl tried her best to escape from them. During the tussle, the miscreants attacked the girl with a piece of blade and injured her seriously.

After hearing her screams, local people rushed to the spot and the miscreants fled from the spot. The girl was immediately rushed to Pattamundai Hospital in a critical condition where she is undergoing treatment. 

As per hospital sources, the girl responded to the treatment well and her condition is stated to be stable.

An FIR in this regard has been lodged at Pattamundai police station by the family members of the girl. On the basis of the complaint, Pattamundai police has registered a case and started an investigation.

However, the exact cause behind the abduction bid is yet to be ascertained.
