Odisha BJP President Manmohan Samal
Efforts are currently underway to ensure a refund of money to the duped investors in various chit fund scams in Odisha, informed Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) state president, Manmohan Samal on Wednesday.
While talking to reporters, Samal informed that the party is actively considering the process of reimbursing money to the people who fell victim to chit fund scams. He stated that a policy decision is imminent, which will enable the initiation of this process. The government is currently evaluating to make the Commission’s report public and ensure transparency.

“Efforts are on to ensure that things reach their logical end in an appropriate legal manner at the earliest. The Odisha government is also contemplating to make the Commission’s report public,” said Samal.
Samal criticised the previous state government for not fulfilling its duty to execute these refunds. He assured that the new BJP government in the state is taking all necessary steps to facilitate the reimbursement of funds to investors through appropriate mechanisms.
Such statements are likely to provide some solace as it addresses the long-standing grievances of many investors who have awaited the return of their funds.
Criticism from Opposition
In response, the Deputy Leader of the Opposition, Prasanna Acharya, stated that a concrete action is yet to be seen by the present government even though it claims to be contemplating a lot of things.
“The BJP government claims that it is considering all aspects and, but it is not taking any steps. Duty doesn’t end by making statements only,” said Acharya.
