The Union Cabinet approved a Rs. 8307.74 crore, 110.875 km 6-lane access-controlled bypass in Odisha to divert heavy traffic from Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, and Khordha, connecting major highways for better logistics.

The Union Cabinet on Tuesday approved the construction of a 6-lane access-controlled Capital Region Ring Road (Bhubaneswar Bypass, 110.875 km) at a cost of Rs. 8307.74 Cr. 

The project aims to greatly benefit Odisha and neighbouring eastern states by diverting heavy commercial traffic away from Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, and Khordha.

The bypass road will connect three major National Highways (NH-55, NH-57, NH-655) and one State Highway (SH-65), ensuring smooth connectivity to key economic, social, and logistics hubs across the state.
