Cattle smuggling in Scorpio! Miscreants nabbed in Bhubaneswar
In a major breakthrough, as many as three individuals involved in stealing cows and bulls from various parts of Bhubaneswar have been apprehended by local cow protection volunteers.
As per reports, the miscreants were reportedly using luxury vehicles, including SUVs, to transport the stolen cattle.
As per sources, the thieves would drive around in these expensive cars, identify unattended cattle, and then load them into the vehicles to smuggle them away.
Acting on tip-offs, vigilant cow protectors managed to intercept the culprits and handed them over to the police.
The Tamando police have reportedly taken the accused into custody and initiated further investigation into the case.

Earlier in April this year, tension prevailed near Masabira under Lephripada police limits in Sundargarh district when suspected cattle smugglers opened fire at an Excise Department vehicle. The dramatic incident unfolded when officials from the Excise Department were trailing a suspicious pick-up van, initially believed to be involved in illegal liquor transportation from the Hemgiri area—a region under regular surveillance for illicit trade.
As the Excise team closed in on the vehicle, the smugglers opened fire. Around three rounds were fired in rapid succession, with bullets hitting the Excise Department vehicle. Fortunately, no officials were harmed during the attack, although the departmental vehicle suffered visible damage.
Later, the Excise personnel, with support from the local police, managed to intercept the van. The vehicle was being used to smuggle five cows, allegedly being transported illegally across the state border.
