The place where the security guard was found dead

The body of a security guard was found near the gate of the Rural Piped Water Supply Project office on the outskirts of Anandapur town in Keonjhar district on Monday morning. The deceased has been identified as Sukhadev Sahu and hailed from Padmapur village.

According to reports, the deceased was working as a security guard at the local water supply office and reached the facility on time for his duty at 8 pm. After he did not reach home the following day much after his usual time at 8 am, family members launched a search for him. Subsequently, his body was found outside the back gate of the office this morning.

Shocking discrepancies have been brought forward by relatives and locals who alleged that Sahu was murdered. For one, the deceased was in full uniform but had no shoes on, which were lying scattered nearby.

A metal rod soaked in blood was also found near his dead body, raising glaring suspicions of a murder. However, the most shocking aspect of the case was that someone had signed a logout time on the attendance register of the facility even when Sukhadev Sahu never left the facility.

“When we asked the other security staff as to who had signed on the attendance register on Sukhadev’s behalf, one of them said that they did it as per the instructions of their supervisor. We are pretty certain that this is a larger conspiracy and demand a probe into the matter,” stated a relative of the deceased.
