Body of missing minor girl recovered in Angul, villagers stage protest
In Angul’s Shyamsundarpur village, the body of a 10-year-old girl who went missing on Saturday was discovered on Sunday
morning from a drain close to her house.
The child’s family had lodged a missing person report after she failed to return home. Her death has now sparked serious allegations, with relatives claiming she was deliberately killed by miscreants.
“She was playing at around 4 pm yesterday. We searched for her everywhere but could not find her. Later, her body, with injuries on neck, ear, and eye, was found in a drain,” alleged the deceased minor’s father.
Tension prevailed in the area as angry villagers blocked the Angul-Bantala road, demanding immediate arrest of the culprits and justice for the child. The road blockade disrupted traffic for several hours.
