A blueprint has already been prepared for the smooth conduct of the Snana Yatra and Rath Yatra, said Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan on Monday.

The Law Minister chaired a meeting attended by Chief Administrator of SJTA Arabinda Padhee, Puri district Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain, SP Pinak Mishra, servitors and other senior officials. The meeting discussed how the upcoming festivals will be observed without any hassles and how the problems encountered last year can be avoided, informed sources.

“We have prepared a blueprint of plans that will ensure the smooth conduct of the Snana Yatra and Rath Yatra. While the timetable for Snana Yatra has already been prepared, that of the Rath Yatra is under process,” said Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan.

“The Chief Minister had a discussion with the representatives of all nijogs who are also the members of the management committee. They have been requested to take the responsibility of ensuring peaceful conduct of the Snana Yatra,” he added.

Puri SP, Pinak Mishra said, “For the smooth conduct of the Snana Yatra and Rath Yatra, we had a meeting with the president, secretary and members of the Chhatisa Nijog and heads of different nijogs today. As we have to work closely with them throughout the year and more closely during the time of festivals like Snana Yatra, Rath Yatra and Suna Besha, we sought their opinions. We also sought their cooperation.”

Informing about the meeting’s outcome, temple management committee member Madhaba Mohapatra said, “In the meeting, we suggested the police to keep a DIB report on how many visitors are coming to Puri so that the crowding can be managed.”
