BJP MP and BJD MLA enter into war or words on Gandhi Jayanti in Odisha’s Daspalla

A war of words broke out between BJD’s Daspalla MLA Ramesh Chandra Behera and BJP’s Kandhamal MP Sukanta Panigarhi on Gandhi Jayanti in Nayagarh district on Wednesday. Both the leaders had reached Daspalla for the Gandhi Jayanti celebrations.

Sources said that the BJP MP reached the spot where the BJD MLA and his supporters had come to offer floral tributes to the statue of Gandhiji. The supporters of both leaders were seen engaged in sloganeering which led to a ruckus for quite some time.

Later, BJD MLA Ramesh Chandra Behera took out a bike rally and attended the Jan Sampark padayatra. He said, “The new government has failed and they have come to power by telling lies. The government has failed to keep its assurance made to the people in the last three months.”

BJP MP Sukanta Panigrahi said, “Mahatma Gandhi was doing padayatra and we are doing it. BJD government was dipped in lies and corruption. Did Gandhi ji tell them to do so?” According to Panigrahi, the BJD’s padayatra will not have any impact.
