All is not well between BJD leaders at Barchana in Jajpur

Once again the ongoing infighting in BJD came to the fore after multiple padayatras by different leaders were organised on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti in Jajpur district on Wednesday.

It seems that all is not well in BJD as far as the Barchana area is concerned in Jajpur district. Here, senior BJD leader Amar Satpathy, party’s candidate in the last elections and actress Varsha Priyadarshini and Rajnarayan Mohapatra, the son of former minister Sitakant Mohapatra, arrived at Bayree to garland the statue of Mahatma Gandhi.

As per sources, Amar Satpathy reached the venue to attend the programme along with his supporters. While Varsha Priyadarshini attended the event under the leadership of block president and others. She later participated in the padayatra and stressed on strengthening the membership drive.

On the other hand, it was a show of strength for Rajnarayan Mohapatra who had joined BJD after quitting the Congress. He reached Byree with his supporters and participated in the event which was more of an endeavour to show his organisational strength in the area. Not only in Jajpur, there are reports of fissures within the BJD in other units in the state like Khordha.

On Tuesday, massive fighting between two factions of BJD leaders from Khordh was reported at Sankha Bhawan, the BJD headquarters in Bhubaneswar.
