BJP Krushak Morcha to keep hawk eye on mandis: Odisha Minister
Fisheries and Animal Resources Minister Gokulananda Mallick on Tuesday warned that stringent action will be taken against whoever is found neglecting duty towards farmers at mandis across the state.
Minister Mallick attended the BJP Krushak Morcha’s preparatory meeting ahead of the commencement of paddy procurement.
He appealed to the members of the morcha to keep a hawk eye on the mandis to prevent any irregularities.
“In the past, farmers were exploited in the name of katni-chhatni. For the betterment of farmers, Krushak Morcha under the leadership of its president Maheswar Sahu will keep an eye on every procurement centre. The morcha will see if farmers are harassed in the name of katni-chhatni, the actual MSP is being paid to them or not and if they are being accorded respect. If any negligence is reported, stringent action would be taken against anyone who is found guilty,” he said.
