Pradeep Pattanayak

The state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday trained its gun at the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) after the ruling party's organisational secretary Pranab Prakash Das termed the chairperson of 5T and Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha, VK Pandian as the disciple of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Addressing a press conference, state BJP Vice President, Golak Mohapatra said, “From what he said, it is understood that the party has failed in producing a leader, or a disciple for that matter. What could be more pathetic, deplorable, and ridiculous than this?”

“What the party was doing during these 25 years? Not a single one from the party emerged as a leader? Not even a disciple. A government officer has become the disciple of the CM after his retirement,” he added.

While responding to Mohapatra’s statement, BJD Vice President Debi Mishra said, “The BJD is such a party that has won five elections in a row, won the confidence of Odisha people under the leadership of Naveen Patnaik, worked for all sections and advanced the wheel of progress. Be it general elections, civic body elections, panchayat elections, or cooperative elections, the party has emerged as number one.”
