The Biju Janata Dal’s organisational secretary Pranab Prakash Das, who was recently out of the media limelight since making a statement linked to ‘slave,’ was back in the news on Saturday. He lavished praise on the chairperson of 5T and Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha, VK Pandian, terming him as ‘disciple of honourable Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.”

His praise of Pandian has been the talk of the town.

Addressing a programme of 'Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha' at Jajpur on Saturday, the BJD leader said, "Sir, I will speak the truth even if I may be beaten. A disciple can do what a son cannot do. I thank the 5T chairperson for carrying out a string of developments in Odisha.”

“I thank you (Pandian) from the core of my heart for what you have done for the Chief Minister, Odisha's Jajpur, and for Jagannath temple,” he noted.

During his address, the Jajpur MLA while referring to the 5T chairperson, waxed eloquent on Pandian, saying,” Let me correct a little and add something -- A disciple of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. What a son cannot do, a disciple can do, Mr Pandian.”

Following such lavish praise on the 5T secretary, the BJP said that the survival of BJD leaders depends on how one can praise Pandian to the hilt.

Sudipta Panda, BJP’s Jajpur unit president, observed, “No doubt, after Naveen Patnaik, Pandian is the second leader in the BJD. The BJD leaders have seen in the past that those who had opposed Pandian have been shown the doors. If you have to survive politically, BJD leaders have to sing praises of Pandian.”

Congress spokesperson Bibhuti Mohapatra said, “VK Pandian is all in all in the BJD. No leaders in the BJD are bigger. Without Pandian, obtaining a ticket from the BJD will be difficult for them.”
