Politics is now at its peak in Odisha over the controversy surrounding the scuffle between BJP MLA and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Jayanarayan Mishra and a lady police officer on Wednesday.

Amidst the row, the senior BJP leader on Thursday made some shocking statements and alleged that there is now a conspiracy to ‘eliminate him.’

Accusing the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD), Mishra said, “When I started raking up the brutal assassination of health minister Naba Das, the BJD started to take action including attacks on me.”

According to Mishra, he was staying at circuit house for the past several days after suffering fracture in his leg. “On getting information, BJD goons had visited the spot and ransacked property. Had I been at the spot, one can easily imagine what could have been happened to me,” alleged Mishra today.

The LoP further said that instead of going after him, they (BJD) goons should ask CM Naveen Patnaik to take action against him.

“I believe they (BJD goons) had come to eliminate me and it is a conspiracy by the ruling party to kill me as I have been bringing several issues and misgovernace to the limelight,” Mishra added.

Odisha BJP in-charge D Purandeswari also alleged that false cases are being slapped against the LoP and the way he was shoved through a woman police officer is totally condemnable.

“From this incident, it is clearly evident that even Jayanarayan Mishra is not safe in Odisha,” alleged Purandeswari adding that the state government should provide him security.

“Our fight is certainly for the people of the state. The Chief Minister and the MoS should have taken up the responsibility after the murder of health minister Naba Das. Naveen Patnaik is answerable to the people of Odisha as he is one of the chief ministers in the country who has failed to provide security to his own minister,” alleged Purandeswari.

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said, “The ruling party is doing this to cover its own mistakes. Jayanarayan Mishra is not Opposition Leader on account of Naveen Patnaik's mercy, rather it is the decision of the BJP Parliamentary Board.”
