BJB College Student Death
While mystery still shrouds the death of BJB college student Ruchika Mohanty, a clash broke out on Friday during a programme in Athagarh after deceased Ruchika’s mother tried to seek answers from Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain as to when will justice be delivered to her.
The programme was organised to lay the foundation stone of a road project which was attended by Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain. Following the ruckus during the event, Minister Swain reportedly left the venue mid-way.
It is pertinent to mention here that Ruchika Mohanty, a plus 3 first-year student of History (Hons), was found dead at BJB college hostel on July 2 last year.
The family members of deceased Ruchika have been moving from pillar to post and staging demonstrations seeking justice since then. Despite this, the exact reason behind Ruchika’s death is yet to be ascertained.
The family members of the deceased student have been demanding a high-level probe into the matter.
Questions are also being raised over the silence of the Minister and local MLA Ranendra Pratap Swain over the matter.
Meanwhile, Swain could not be contacted over the matter.
