Bhubaneswar modified railway station replica
The redevelopment work of Bhubaneswar railway station is progressing at a fast pace, with the target completion date set by August 2025. The ambitious project, aimed at transforming Bhubaneswar into a major rail hub, promises to deliver a host of advanced amenities synonymous with modern global travel.
The new station aims to enhance passenger experience with state-of-the-art facilities. Designed with meticulous attention to detail, it will feature modern waiting lounges, premium passenger services, and improved platforms to accommodate increased capacity and ensure passenger comfort.
Speaking to OTV, Akshay Saxena, Chief Engineer of the East Coast Railway, expressed confidence in the project's timely completion, highlighting the use of cutting-edge technology and robust planning strategies to prevent delays.
"The station is a significant leap forward, aiming to meet the standards expected by today's discerning travellers. It is very passenger-friendly with all modern equipment. This is a green building and is 100% disabled-friendly. It is seamlessly integrated into all the vehicles including taxis and autos so that passengers can board the train easily," explained Saxena.
“With the best of facilities, the railway station will give the feeling of an airport with food courts and recreational spaces,” Saxena added.
The redevelopment is seen as a pivotal step in enhancing Bhubaneswar’s connectivity and boosting economic growth in the region. Once completed, the station is expected to serve as a blueprint for railway modernisation projects across India.
